Ryne's first live football match (Man Utd 2 Valencia 0)...

Took Ryne to his first live match... a friendly match between Manchester United against Valencia. This is the final friendly for United before the Premiership starts. Ryne was so excited... for the past week he ask for the date every time he wakes up... Went with Abe and his family.

The atmosphere was great and it was a full house on that day. Its good to be back to the Theater of Dreams after 15 years... yup... still remember my first Man Utd live match. The game starts with a one minute applause tribute for Sir Bobby. United started brightly with Owen and Rooney had a couple of chances but the first half ended 0-0. Second half United scored with Rooney and young Tom Cleverley... Berbatov scored a third but was disallowed for infringement. It was a good match.

Ryne was happy and so were Abe's son and daughter... they really enjoyed themselves. Ryne now wants to watch more live games... ayoo... kena cari $$$ lebih le... hehehe.

Malaysia 2 Manchester United 3...

Manchester United won their first match in their Far East tour. But they nearly held to a draw by the Malaysian side if not for Michael Owen to save United with a late winner. Good for Malaysia... and congratulations for Amri Yahya who scored the two goals for Malaysia. Mind you that Malaysia only field two fully international for this match. Hopefully the team gained valuable experience and become a team that we can be proud of just like the old days...

More of the match here.

Manchester United... Champions of English Premiership je...

It was heart breaking but to lost to Barca... no shame to that. Man United did took the fight to Barca head-on for the first 10 minutes but lost the plot when out of the blue... Barca scored through Eto'. The reliable Vidic suddenly lost concentration and Eto' managed to out smart him.

Look... the only way to outplay Barca is to play like Chelsea played them. Very tight defence and hit them through counter attack. I surely think Sir Alex realize this but hey... this is the final and you don't want to see a boring game where one team is doing all the attacking and the other team but a bus in front of the goal.

Some say Sir Alex got the tactics wrong... I disagree with that... Sir Alex got it right actually coz for the first 10 minutes... Man United were making Barca sweat. The only thing that messed up the tactic is Man United defence. Yes...unfortunately that night... they failed. When Barca got the goal... it was hard for Man United to push more forward.

If I was Sir Alex last night... I straight away substitute Park with Teves and let Rooney, Teves, Ronaldo and Giggs ran havoc while Carrick and Anderson marking Iniesta and Xavi. Not to forget if Fletcher were to play... Anderson would be on the bench. Just wished Rio,Vidic and Carrick played better last night... they lack the concentration I feel... Rio and Vidic for the sloppy goals they conceed and Carrick for not controlling the midfield very well.

But congratulations to Barca... they were playing good that night. Hey... they are my favourite team in the Primera Liga so good for them as they secure a Treble just like Man United did in 1999... the first Spanish team to do so... eat that Real Madrid :D

So... back to the drawing board... huhu... there is always next year... no celebrations in the city of Manchester today... everybody at work sume monyok je... Lucky I got my picture taken with the cup... fuhh.

Man Utd going to Rome...

Man Utd won the semi finals of the Champions League with an aggregate of 4-1. A massive win 1-3 at the Emirates eventually buried the Gunners. Man Utd took the lead in the 8th minute through Ji-Sung Park and a stunning free kick by Cristiano Ronaldo in the 11th minute totally finished off the Gunners dream of reaching the finals. Second half Man Utd slot in another goal with a superb counter move between Park, Rooney and the scorer Ronaldo.

Unfortunately Darren Fletcher was sent off for an alleged tackle in the penalty box with Fabregas. Reply show that Fletcher did get the ball and did nothing wrong. Sadly the decision could not be reversed and he will miss the final in Rome.

Congratulations for Man Utd... this will be their second consecutive final.. one step closer to winning the title again :D Tonight I'll be watching the match between Chelsea and Barca. They will fight for a place to be the runner's up... hehehe...

Manchester United on top again...

Manchester United is on top again with 2 points and a game in hand after a 0-1 win against West Ham United. Ryan Giggs scores the winner with a delightful right foot strike which is a record as Giggs is the only player to score in 17 consecutive league seasons. United are also in a 13th consecutive Premier League clean sheet record and Edwin Van der Sar has smashed the British record for not conceding a goal which now extends to 1,212 minutes. :D

After this league title record ler... and I have to thank Rafa Benitez for his crazy wacko rants which never did much to the United team but rather fired back and unsettled his own team... hehehe. The only record that Liverpool is going to break is to be the first team that was top of the league on Xmas but never won the Premiership that season... ;)

United are top... 3 points clear in the Premiership...

United beat West Bromich Albion 0-5 to stay 3 points clear at the top of the Premiership. It was a record breaking day as United have kept 11 consecutive league clean sheet which Edwin Van Der Sar has gone 1,032 minutes without conceding. Mind you this is done with most of the back four defence not fully first choice players. Congratulations to Van Der Sar... at 38 he still is one of the best goal keepers in the world.

This year is going to be Manchester United's year again. Can't wait for the home match against Everton this Saturday. I'll be taking my picture with all the three cups United won last season... the Premiership Cup, the Champions League Cup and the World Club Cup... and as I am one of the staff in United, I can get it cheap :D . I do enjoy working with United even on minimum wage... it's a fan dream come true :D

Man Utd are Champions of the World...

Man Utd became Champions of the FIFA Club World Cup. They won the cup after a tough 1-0 win over Ecuador's LDU Quito. Man Utd dominate the match even when they were down to 10 men. Rooney scored the winning goal after an assist from Ronaldo.

Personally I don't have high regards for the tournament... but hey... it is nice to have on the trophy cabinet. Hope they come back stronger and win the Premiership.

Man Utd are the Club Champions of the World... hahaha :D

Berbatov signs for Manchester United...

In a dramatic transfer deadline day, Dimitar Berbatov finally signed for Manchester for a fee of 30.75 million pounds. The striker has signed a 100,000-pounds-per-week four year contract which he admits could have double if he were to choose Manchester City. The Bulgarian will play in the no. 9 shirt and admits he is ready to show what he is made of in the famous red shirt by proclaiming it is his time

It was a rather crazy transfer dateline with the talk of the day was the transfer of Robinho from Real Madrid to Manchester City. Yes... Man City... the Manchester Blue side football club. They were bought over by a Abu Dhabi consortium that is so rich... Abramovic looks like a kid with a piggy bank in comparison. Their aim... to finish top four of the Premiership this season... take the title in 2009-2010 season and a Champions League champion within three years.

See..? With big money you can dream big. The news that they snap Robinho after agreeing with Real Madrid price of 32.5 million pounds really drown the news of Berbatov's transfer. Man City are now a force to be reckon with as they are now willing to spend big money on players. They even wanted to buy Berbatov and value him at 60 million pounds... see below of their fantasy team as portrait by The Sun.Crazy... but as I will be living in Manchester for a couple of years... this is good :D . The Premiership trophy will never leave Manchester :D .

Apa mau cerita...

Read that blogger Bakaq was released from police custody in Rocky Bru's posting. Bakaq was apologetic about posting the rendered police crest but still stands by the contents of his posting. Bakaq quote:
"I would like to say that I regret putting the crest there. It was wrong, a stupid mistake. I would like to tender my sincere apology to the whole police force.

"I defended and still defend what I wrote but since the first moment they hauled me in, I've said without any reservation that I regretted having copied-and-pasted the image." - Taken from Rocky Bru
Alhamdulillah... Bakaq is safe and the police treated him well. Good job that the police maintain their professionalism... although I still question his arrest under Sedation Act... especially when we know know that Bakaq was arrested because of his posting which features the rendered police crest.

Anyway... things are back to normal and I'll do miss Bakaq writings as now he has no computer and modem... hence no new postings in his blog.
On another note... can you believe that I missed the Charity Shield between Manchester United and Portsmouth. Didn't realize that the Premier League is going to start any week now... God... forgot that I need to update my Yahoo Fantasy Football Team. Yup... this time around... I am going to concentrate on the fantasy league since I'll be unemployed. Yup... I am jobless for the first time in my working life. Pretty scary thought for me but I am taking it easy... step by step and assessing what to do. So you guys out there.. watch Little Green Men... they are the team to beat.. hehehe.

Thanks for the memories Ole...

Should have posted this long time ago but could not find a good picture. Thank you Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Your goal and assist in 1999 made history and forever etched in my mind. The Baby Face Assassin... a loyal servant of United... Ole... Ole... Ole...
Wished I was at Old Trafford to watch Ole's testimonial match like me friend here. Hope when I'm in Manchester I could watch Giggs's.

'King' Eric has a stadium named after him...

Well... well... haven't heard about Cantona for years. Well... I know he is an actor and coaching beach soccer but he is relatively quiet now in the football news (to the Yanks out there... its football... not soccer... kapishh).

To all the younger ones... This is Eric Cantona... before Ronaldo... before Beckham... he was the King... before him it was King Denis.

Manchester United without him playing... never won the Premiership. He only missed 1 penalty with Man United... only 1... it beat the keeper but not the crossbar!!! The most coolest player in the United team... hey... Man United jersey must have collar during his time... Else how can you explain this...
The stadium is in the French town of Tignes where French champions Lyon train at the facility, as do the French national team.

Man United... Double CHAMPIONS!!

Done it again!!! After a long wait... Manchester United wins the Champions League!!! 50 years after the Munich disaster... 9 years after their second Champions League win... they have done it!!! It all came down to penalties... it was nerve racking with Ronaldo missing a penalty... of all the players :o . Thing went brighter when John Terry missed also and United finally seal it when Anelka missed. Sorry Chelsea... your are second best this season... :p Giggs is in the record books... 579 appearances for United... a record than can be proud of... a loyal servant for United.

For Sir Alex, this is his second Champions League Cup... sure there will be more to come. He was so proud of his 'Moscow Marvels'.
“It was such an emotional occasion. I said the day before the game we would not let the memory of the Busby Babes down. We had a cause and people with causes become difficult people to play against. I think fate was playing its hand in the final, even for John Terry slipping over [during the penalty shoot-out].

"Edwin [van der Sar] saving Nicolas Anelka's penalty was not an accident. He knew where certain players were putting the ball, so great credit to him. When it came to the last penalty he used his experience to wait that fraction.

"This was my first victory in penalty shoot-outs, apart from Charity Shields. I lost three with Aberdeen and three with United so it was seventh time lucky!

“I feel very, very proud. With our history, we deserved to get this trophy. But the euphoria evaporates quickly - tomorrow, I’ll be thinking about next season.

"When you win something like this you have to look at the players the following year and make sure the hunger is still there. But the young players who enjoy an experience like they did here will want to do it again. Defending the trophy is not easy but I hope we can do it, the players here are good enough."
Here are some quotes from the players. For some players it was the first time, for others it was the second occasion... for all, winning the European Cup is a magical moment.

Cristiano Ronaldo
"We showed this season that we are the best team in Europe and in England and it’s a great feeling. Next season we will try to do the same. I feel very proud. It means everything to me - it is the happiest day of my life."

Nemanja Vidic
"The game against Manchester City [which marked the 50th anniversary of the Munich air crash] was very disappointing. But I think we made up for it in Moscow and by winning the league. We gave the fans what they wanted."

Ryan Giggs
"Well, maybe it’s fate. It’s 50 years since the Busby Babes died at Munich, 40 years from first winning it in 1968. That might be it... fate."

Edwin van der Sar
"Of course, nights like this are what you dream of. It’s been 13 years – a long time – since I last won the competition and it feels fantastic, especially in the way we won it. Saving the last penalty... I don't have any words for it. What can I say? It's great."

Rio Ferdinand
"I said before the game that you’re only really considered a great player at this club when you win the Champions League. A lot of top players have played for United, but becoming a European champion sets you apart from others."

Wayne Rooney
"I hope we can win it again. Doing it this year has given us a taste for it and we want to do well again next season. We’ve got some great young players in the squad mixed with experience, so hopefully we can do well again."

Michael Carrick
"When you take a penalty you’ve got to have the belief in yourself that you’re going to score and obviously hope for the best! You know there is always someone who’s going to have to miss and you pray it’s not you."

Carlos Tevez
"It has been a long time since I felt like this - it's a huge emotion in my heart. When I was a child, I never thought I would be now lifting the cup, but dreams usually come true and I am very, very happy."

Perfect closing for the season... the best Manchester United team under Sir Alex. Third Champions League title. Champions of the Premier League... Champions of Europe! I am ecstatic... I am going to work... mamak..! Kopi takde gula satu! Got to stay awake... got meeting this morning... hahaha. This is the best day of my life (after my wedding day and the birth of my kids of course ;) ).

Glory... Glory... Man United... Double CHAMPION!!!

Man Utd Champions... Moscow, here we come!!!

Man United are Premier League Champions!!! All the drama... final match of the season.. Chealsea breathing down our necks but finally... No goal difference result. They had a draw against Bolton (1-1) while Man United won comfortably against Wigan away (0-2). It has been a great season... and when Giggs scored (yes... he scored!!!) and lifted the cup for his 10th time and equalizing Bobby Charlton's record of 758 appearances for the Red Devils... the feeling was fantastic. We deserve it... and won it fair and square!!!

Here are some quotes on the fabulous day itself... (I got it emailed from Red View by webmaster@manutd.com).

WE'RE CHAMPIONS: SIR ALEX ECSTATIC

Sir Alex Ferguson is delighted after landing his 10th Barclays Premier League title as United boss. This is what he said in his first post-match interview at Wigan:

Was this the toughest title race so far?
“It was a tough one all right and being away from home made it more difficult. In fairness for most of the game we played well. There were some nervous moments and then the rain came, anything can happen on a rainy surface. Just after half-time we started to get a grip of it. We missed a few chances and the goalkeeper made some great saves. I was saying to myself, “please give us that second goal.” Of course, my oldest player, ten medals today, gets it – Ryan Giggs. Fantastic."

How nervous were you when Chelsea went 1-0 up?
“There was a guy behind us who kept telling us it was 2-0 to Chelsea after one minute. You’ve got to try and dismiss all the stuff round about you, forget what was happening at Chelsea and concentrate on our own game. I think we did that."

What would you regard as the turning point in the title race?
"It ebbed and flowed a bit. Arsenal, for long periods, looked like they were going to win it. Then they dropped a few points after we knocked them out of the FA Cup and that told for them. We then dropped a few points at Blackburn and Middlesbrough and that allowed Chelsea to close right in. But the two points Chelsea dropped against Wigan probably won the title for us."

How does it feel to have won 10 titles?
"Fantastic. I’m very proud. Proud to have survived for so long. It’s a great club and it’s much easier for me than it is for anyone else. How would I do without this? Tell me."

What impact will winning the title have on the Champions League final?
"The great thing is we’re bouncing into the final. We can look forward to it. If we’d lost the title today, it would have been difficult. When we lost the title at West Ham in 1995, we lost the FA Cup final the following week. We were dead then. We’re not dead now, we’re alive. If we win the European Cup, this has to be my best team."

CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES

United's tenth Premier League title means so much to so many people. Here is a selection of quotes which capture the mood...

"It feels great. I'm not bothered about individual records, this is what it’s all about – championships." - Ryan Giggs

"This is my third title but it’s Giggsy’s tenth and that puts it into perspective. He keeps driving on every season and that’s an inspiration to all the lads." - Rio Ferdinand

“The pressure was high, but we believed in ourselves and we deserve to win the title, definitely." - Cristiano Ronaldo

"Alex Ferguson’s record is simply sensational. The man is a genius. And if there's anyone I would have liked to equal my record, it’s Ryan Giggs. He’s a credit to his family, the club, the game and himself." - Sir Bobby Charlton

"We knew that coming into the last two games, if we got six points we’d be champions. We could see the finish line. It was in our hands and we weren’t going to let it slip. We were so determined to retain the title." - Wayne Rooney

"I think [equalling Liverpool's] 18 titles will come. This side’s young. It’s developing all the time. It’s a good young team and there are plenty of years left in them. They’ll do it in their own time." - Sir Alex Ferguson

Champions League is in our grasp... Moscow... here we come!!! To all the non-Man United fans... hehehe :D ... tough. See ya next season... :p

Glory... Glory... Man United!!! We are the Champions!!!
