Selamat Hari Kebangsaan and Selamat Beramal Di Bulan Ramadhan...

Firstly... Selamat Hari Kebangsaan. One of my worst Hari Kebangsaan year... thought last years was the worst. Didn't give a hoot on what was going on last night. Felt the need not to celebrate. What to celebrate? I am using the word 'Kebangsaan' and not 'Merdeka' since I feel that we are not fully 'merdeka'. Go figure if we still have Pak Lah as our PM.
PM in distress

Secondly... selamat beramal di bulan Ramadhan. Sure time-time macam ni surau penuh... Alhamdulillah... nikmat bulan Ramadhan. But don't think I will slow down in criticizing Pak Lah... no way man. But I will be posting less next month as I am packing my bags out of this country. Not meaning I'll be leaving for good. Just that I'm looking for experience elsewhere... well actually in Manchester, UK... woohooo... Old Trafford... here I come.

The Government blocks Malaysia Today...

Pak Lah government made another boo-boo. They are blocking my favorite website... Malaysia Today despite Malaysia's promise to the world that the Government of this country will not censor the Internet. Just like Rocky posting... we are telling foreign investors to go and fly kite elsewhere... read Google, Go Away! Read also below:
Government to target blogosphere next

Malaysian Insider (26/8/08) Next up: a crackdown on bloggers. This possibility looms large after the government reached a sober assessment that it could all end in tears for the Barisan Nasional at the next general election if tough action is not taken to counter allegations on the Net and hold owners of blogs accountable.

This conclusion was reached during a meeting last week involving several Cabinet ministers and senior government officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Government officials noted that some 400,000 new voters are registered each year. Assuming that the next polls are in five years, there would be two million new voters the next time the BN seeks a fresh mandate. A large chunk of these two million voters are likely to obtain their news and information from websites and blogs, and not from the mainstream media.

Several ministers noted that if the government followed its current policy of allowing allegations by bloggers to go unchallenged, this would create the perception that the information being posted is accurate.

"There is a growing consensus in government that those who run websites and blogs should be held accountable and this means that laws should be used to take action against those who defame and spread disinformation.

"If not, we are going to have a situation where everyone will be free to make all sorts of allegations with no downside at all. There is a fear that the trust level with BN would be very low if nothing is done, '' said a senior government official familiar with details of the meeting.

The prevailing mood in the government against the alternative media is one of frustration. After decades of being able to control newspapers and television stations through a raft of legislation, government officials and politicians are finding that their tools are useless in setting boundaries for new media.

At last week's meeting, an official of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) explained that the authorities have not come down hard on websites and bloggers because Section 3 of the Communications and Multimedia Act prohibits any form of censorship.

But government officials corrected him and said that the guarantee that the Internet would not be censored did not preclude legal action from being taken against bloggers for defamation and sedition.

They pointed out that the Singapore government had hauled several bloggers to court for a series of offences and suggested that the Malaysian government should follow suit. In the aftermath of Election 2008, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said that the government paid a heavy price by allowing accusations and reports on the Internet to go unchallenged.

He said that the BN underestimated the power of the Internet and committed a serious misjudgment by relying on the mainstream media in the run-up to the general election. His comments resulted in the Information Ministry reaching out to some prominent bloggers and giving them some air-time on television but by and large the relationship between the alternative media and the government has remained testy.

In recent months, Raja Petra Kamaruddin, the country's best-known political blogger, has had a running battle with Najib and his wife, implicating both of them in the October 2006 murder of Mongolian model Altantuya Shariibuu. The DPM has also been on the receiving end of other damaging allegations.

His supporters in Umno have been pushing for a more hardnosed approach in dealing with bloggers and operators of news portals, arguing that the softer touch by the Abdullah administration has resulted in daily attacks on ministers and BN politicians.

Critics of the government said that instead of focusing on bloggers and the alternative media, they should strive for more accountability and transparency, and remove the shackles on the mainstream media.
But I can still read Malaysia today :P and they are fighting back... read Yeh, yeh, kita menang! When will the Government learn that in this day and age you can't censor the internet. This really shows how dumb Pak Lah is. Tun Dr. Mahathir didn't censor the internet during his tenure even though Malaysia Today bashed him like hell.

The PM is totally gone bonkers. He is really in distress. This poor bugger doesn't realize that people are feed up with him. Permatang Pauh by-election shows the reality... Anwar won big time... bigger majority... UMNO's vote were down from previous... even UMNO people vote for Anwar. It is high time for UMNO guys to kick this fella out now. What the people want is CHANGE... and people don't care if Anwar is a sodomite or a big liar because he promises change... and he shows he can deliver change. So people of UMNO... show that you guys can also change... kick Pak Lah out now! Read Tun Dr. Mahathir's posting Permatang Pauh. Kick Pak Lah now or UMNO will be the opposition come next election... baru padan muka seko-seko.

You guys can still link to Malaysia Today through my 'Blogs I click' :D

Anwar Ibrahim MP...

Never thought he would be back into the Parliament... but after ten years absent, he is now back. Anwar won the Permatang Pauh by-election. In The STAR... PKR claims that Anwar won by a majority of 17,652. Read here for full report.

Like it or not... Anwar is 'King' in Permatang Pauh. Did BN give a good fight? I don't think so. With all the character assassination campaign going on... BN was actually digging their own grave. People actually became more 'meluat' towards BN. Then came Khairy with his wild claims... making the grave even deeper. Yo Khairy... people are getting sick of you since the last GE... which part of 'meluat' don't you understand? Duduk rumah lain kali. Just like the father in law... syok sendiri.

Seriously... if BN thinks they could win in Permatang Pauh... they are truly living in BolehLah Land. The target of reducing Anwar's majority baffles me... who cares about reduce majority..? Anwar still wins.

Hopefully with Anwar in Parliament... there will be more serious governing from the Government. And we can see if Anwar can deliver what he promises come 16th September... if the liwat case did not get to him first.

Speaking of the liwat case... I am still baffled on why Anwar refuse to mubahalah. What is it that he is afraid of?

Fuel price review...

This was in The Star yesterday.
Govt to review fuel prices every 15 days
By PAUL CHOO and LOONG MENG YEE

KUALA LUMPUR: The Government has agreed to review fuel prices every 15 days instead of every month, said Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan.

He said with this, the Government would be able to further reduce fuel prices if global oil prices continued to drop.

Ka Chuan, who said he proposed the review period, said the decision was made during a Cabinet meeting on Friday.

“If this down trend of oil prices continue, we want to be able to make sure we can ease the burden of the rakyat by lowering fuel prices,” he told a press conference after attending the Utar Seventh Convocation ceremony, where he presented some 500 graduates with their accolades.

He said the mechanism, however, would take into consideration oil prices within a 15-day period and then only determine whether any reduction was viable.

Ka Chuan said it did not necessarily mean that fuel prices would drop if global oil prices went down.

He said global oil prices could fluctuate significantly within the 15-day period, making it hard to make a “guarantee” to reduce fuel prices.

He said the Government would have to take into consideration the extent of the drop or increase in prices before making a decision.

“Rest assured, however, petrol prices would never exceed RM2.70 a litre if global oil prices increase again,” he said.  Yeah right... with a flop flop leader like Pak Lah... can you believe him?

Ka Chuan, who is also MCA secretary-general also stressed that the 15-sen reduction in fuel prices was not made to woo voters in the Permatang Pauh by-election on Aug 26.Hehehe... anything helps dude... your target is to reduce Anwar's majority right? I recall the government want to reduce the price in September. It seems that Pak Lah is his usual self... lying to the public. Nak naik harga tipu... turun harga pun tipu gak ke? Eh... bukan tipu... surprise eh ;)

He said the move was made after considering fuel prices between Aug 1 and Aug 21.
Hemmm... I'll expect every 15 days, the fuel stations will be either empty like this...(picture taken from The Star) or full like this (picture taken from Utusan)...
Only in Malaysia dude... only in Malaysia. 'Entertainment' every 15 days... brought to you by the Malaysian flip flop government.

Anyway... at least our burden is reduced by fifteen sen... Anwar promised fifty sen reduction... but fifty... fifteen sounds similar... no? ;)

Evil blogger..?

Yesterday was my birthday. Been busy for the past couple of weeks... hence no time to update my blog. But I managed to read a couple of postings from other blogs and the news...

Our PM has gone bonkers... really. Instead of concentrating on the nation's well being and its economy, this guy is hooting around calling bloggers evil... just because of flying the Jalur Gemilang upside down. You can read his stupid comment here. Hey... I'm myself don't like the Jalur Gemilang upside down... it looks ugly... and I love me flag. But that does not warrant being called evil. I agree with Rocky on is posting... rapist, murderers... they are evil... not people who turn their flag's upside down. Flag upside down = distress... you moron. Examples as below:
In distress
In distress
Errr... seriously... its upside down... still the same? Tak distress kot.

You must know the reason why these people turn their beloved country's flag upside down... not resorting to calling people evil and abuse your power to ask the police to go and make an arrest. Go and read Tun Dr. Mahathir posts Merdeka. I totally agree with him.

Don't waste your time on petty things. Don't waste police time on this. While on the topic of wasting time... Pak Lah... resign terus la... letih la suruh banyak kali... wasting our time. Well... I'm still posting this upside down.

UMNO spent RM218 million...

... on the last 2004 General Election... and that is just for campaign paraphernalia. Read below (taken from Malaysia Today):
Pay up, Umno told

But party says the suit should have been directed at Barisan

(Today Online) - As Malaysia's United Malays National Organisation (Umno) braced itself for the tough Permatang Pauh by-election against opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, the ruling party has been dealt a fresh blow involving an election campaign scandal four years ago, reported Malaysiakini.

The news portal said in the March 2004 general election, Umno received campaign paraphernalia worth hundreds of millions of ringgit including posters, badges and banners — which it had refused to pay for.

The poll merchandise supplier, Elegant Advisory, has since taken the dispute to court.

Last month, the Kuala Lumpur High Court ordered Umno to pay RM218 million claimed by Elegant Advisory, reported Malaysiakini.

The amount is the highest-ever sum of money that Umno — which is the pillar of ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition — has been ordered to pay by a court of law.

The decision was a judgment in default delivered by the High Court on July 17 after Umno's lawyers failed to appear in court.

In response, Umno's treasurer Abdul Azim Mohd Zabidi filed an application in court on July 24 to set aside the judgment. In his affidavit, he argued that Elegant Advisory had sued the wrong body, reported Malaysiakini.

"I am stating that the defendant, Umno, is not a party which contested in the 11th General Election but it was BN, another registered body," he said in the affidavit.

Umno further argued that the campaign materials in question bore the BN's "dacing" (scale) logo, and not the Umno's logo of a "keris" (the traditional Malay dagger).

Malaysiakini said Elegant Advisory executive director Samsudin Ibrahim recently rebutted Mr Abdul Azim's argument that Umno was wrongly cited in the action.

The company contended that "Umno, as the biggest party in BN, has not only used the keris logo during the election but also used the dacing logo widely. BN is not a legal entity but it's a coalition of political parties, with Umno being its biggest party".
Hahaha... lame argument from Abdul Azim... dacing ke... keris ke... it is an open secret that UMNO never pays whatever jobs they ask you to do... selalu 'kencing' kontraktor. But I never thought it in millions!!! Wonder where they gonna get the money to pay from... hem... I can imagine ;) .

Some interesting comments from The Edge 'End the business of political contracts'.

Lim Guan Eng also commented as reported by The Star:
Umno exceeded election spending limit: Guan Eng

GEORGE TOWN: The sum of RM218mil that a High Court has ordered Umno to pay for 2004 general election campaign materials exceeds the 2004 general election spending limit, said DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

He said in a press statement here Tuesday the Kuala Lumpur High Court judgment meant that the party had exceeded the spending limit of RM94.3mil at the maximum of RM200,000 per parliamentary constituency and RM100,000 per state constituency.

It was reported Tuesday that a High Court deputy registrar had ordered Umno to pay the sum to supplier Elegant Advisory Sdn Bhd for printed materials, transportation and mineral water used by the party in the 2004 general election.

Lim said that under Section 19 of the Election Offences Act 1954, a candidate could not spend more than RM200,000 and RM100,000 respectively for a parliamentary and state constituency.

"Umno had claimed that the campaign materials were for Barisan Nasional and had nothing to do with Umno. With 219 parliamentary seats and 505 state seats contested in the 2004 general elections, this means that a party like Barisan that contested all seats cannot spend more than RM94.3mil or else Barisan's victories are illegal.

"With RM218mil spent whether by Barisan or Umno on campaign materials alone, this is more than double the legally permitted amount," said Lim.

He said that spending above the limits imposed by the Elections Offences Act 1954 was an illegal practice under Section 27, and subject to a fine of RM5,000 by the Sessions Court, disqualification as a wakil rakyat and removal of rights as a voter.

"However, such laws are marked more by its breach than its compliance," he added.

Lim said this might now be an academic question since the 2004 general election had been superseded by the 2008 general election.

"The Election Commission’s failure to act and question the legality of the 2004 general election victories by the Barisan government not only makes a mockery of the very election laws it has drafted but also the spirit of democracy that votes should not be bought and sold," he said. This is typical of the EC... I can imagine the DG lame response... 'I don't have juristriction in this matter'... bla... bla... bla...
But just for thought... if they don't pay... it means that they don't spend... Elegant Advisory Sdn Bhd was suppose to do this for free... that is why no case ler... ;) Maybe this is why EC fail to act... ;)

Funny email circulating...

Heard about this email... read it in Perisik Rakyat posting in The Candidate. So... I cut and paste it here... wonder if Pak Lah ever thinked of facing Anwar face to face...
PM: Okay people, you all know we have to face Anwar in Permatang Pauh and that is not exactly kacang puteh, so we must get the best candidate or we will be eaten alive.

Najib: Actually there is only one candidate here who can fight him there and he hails from a nearby constituency.

PM: Who, who? Call him now.

Najib: Its you Pak Lah. Only you can win there. I suggest you resign your seat and take on Anwar in PP. As for KB, it is a safe seat.

PM: Wow, what a good idea. When he trashed me real good, I will be without a seat in government and an easy target in our own elections in December. Very clever ha you. Why not you go there?

Najib: Cannot la. I am not from the North and the people are blaming me for that sodomy case so they won't take too kindly to me. I still believe you are the best candidate la.

PM: I know you la Najib. Okay, I could do it but when I resign, Khairy will act as the PM. You agree?

Najib: Er, er, it was just an idea la, and I can see that it is a bad one. Forget it la.

Samy: Er, Pak Lah. I also can. I have no seat now so I am free.

PM: Samy why don't you stop joking? We are serious you know.

Samy: I am serious la. Why you think I Indian, I cannot win in Permatang Pauh ka?

Najib: Hey Samy you can't even beat a Muslim fundamentalist if you were to contest in Mumbai la.

Annuar: Like this la. Lets accept facts, we know we are going to lose. Last I heard, punters are willing to kuyu BN about 5000 votes, its a lost cause la. Why not we say we are fed-up with them playing a fool with the elections and boycott the by elections.

PM: You mean run away?

Annuar: If we lose with a smaller majority, Anwar will still get in but if we lose with a bigger majority, malu and mampoih la.

Samy: Why must lose with bigger majority?

Annuar: In March no sodomy case also we lost by nearly 14K votes, now got sodomy charges and everyone don't believe it, so what happen?

Muhyidin: I think we put Ezam la. If anybody is going to get slaughtered let it be him.

Nazri: Why not the last candidate, Uz Firdaus?

PM: I heard he is afraid that if he loses, his chances for Ketua Bahagian would be lost.

Samy: I know, I know. We put that Sepol fellow. In our posters we put a picture of his arsehole. Surely can get sympathy one.

Kayveas: Hey Samy, you go play outside with the Puteri UMNO la, kacau only. Talk like retarded boy only. Chit.

Samy: Hey Kayveas, what you say? I cannot tahan you already la, come la if you are brave.

PM: Shut up you two. Go to the corner there and turn towards the wall. Go now.

Nazri: What did Tan Sri Rashid say?

PM: Not enough time to bring the Nepalese, Tibetans and Eskimos here. We have run out of ICs to issue.

Samy: Hey Najib, what about your wife? Nowadays everybody is afraid of her what. Put her la. Surely very explosive affair one.

Najib: Shut up la you. What my wife did to you that you want to talk about her like that? You want me to call her here ka?

Samy: Haiyo, no la. Joking only la. I want to die in one piece.

PM: We still do not have a candidate.

Najib: No matter who the candidate is we will still lose so why bother with a strong one? Lets just put in someone insignificant and let him be slaughtered.

PM: Yes I agree. Aaaa, Samy! Samy! Are you really interested in Permatang Pauh?

Penarik Beca writes again...

And he's not happy of being arrested... because of his clumsy mistake. He shouldn't have cut and paste the rendered police crest... and he is sorry about it. Read what he is not happy about here.

Apa-apa le... janji kau dah keluar lokap. But why was he arrested by Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Komersil (JSJK)? What is the relationship between rendering police crest and commercial? Anybody knows?

Guide to Fantasy Footie...

I have been playing Yahoo UK Fantasy Football for ages. Been playing with me friends in our own little league. Last season was the worst as my team ended the season last in the league.

This season they change the layout of the website. It more interactive and much more easier to navigate... I like tis new format. They also added a blog section which really helps in giving tips on players and latest news. Check them out here. They give good reviews.. really. Also helpful site is the PhysioRoom.com which details the injury list for all Premiership teams. Sometimes not that accurate... but it helps. Don't want to choose an injured player... huh.

The rules haven't change... which is good. Because of that, I tend to play the 3-4-3 formation or the 3-5-2 formation. Players who score goals or assist will be given more points hence less the defender you have the better. Also try to choose defenders which plays as wingbacks or provide crosses as they will be involve in attacking more (hence more points). Defenders who scores often does help.

Check out for new signings in the league as they are cheap when they enter the system. Remember you only got 100 million to spend on 11 players so cheap players who scores plenty does help. With players like Ronaldo who is valued at 27.09 million... it really helps. BTW... you guys must be out of your mind to get Ronaldo with this bloody-out-of-this-world-price... he is injured for God sake... won't be playing till end of September I heard.

So... join in... try to see if you are a real footie manager... put your footie knowledge to the test. It is fun... and if you play with friends in your own little league... you got bragging rights if you are the champion... :D . Try a beat me team... Little Green Men. With me unemployed and staying in the UK... me got an upperhand... hehehe.

Apa mau cerita...

Read that blogger Bakaq was released from police custody in Rocky Bru's posting. Bakaq was apologetic about posting the rendered police crest but still stands by the contents of his posting. Bakaq quote:
"I would like to say that I regret putting the crest there. It was wrong, a stupid mistake. I would like to tender my sincere apology to the whole police force.

"I defended and still defend what I wrote but since the first moment they hauled me in, I've said without any reservation that I regretted having copied-and-pasted the image." - Taken from Rocky Bru
Alhamdulillah... Bakaq is safe and the police treated him well. Good job that the police maintain their professionalism... although I still question his arrest under Sedation Act... especially when we know know that Bakaq was arrested because of his posting which features the rendered police crest.

Anyway... things are back to normal and I'll do miss Bakaq writings as now he has no computer and modem... hence no new postings in his blog.
On another note... can you believe that I missed the Charity Shield between Manchester United and Portsmouth. Didn't realize that the Premier League is going to start any week now... God... forgot that I need to update my Yahoo Fantasy Football Team. Yup... this time around... I am going to concentrate on the fantasy league since I'll be unemployed. Yup... I am jobless for the first time in my working life. Pretty scary thought for me but I am taking it easy... step by step and assessing what to do. So you guys out there.. watch Little Green Men... they are the team to beat.. hehehe.

Thanks for the memories Ole...

Should have posted this long time ago but could not find a good picture. Thank you Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Your goal and assist in 1999 made history and forever etched in my mind. The Baby Face Assassin... a loyal servant of United... Ole... Ole... Ole...
Wished I was at Old Trafford to watch Ole's testimonial match like me friend here. Hope when I'm in Manchester I could watch Giggs's.

Penarik Beca arrested...

One of my favourite blogger, Penarik Beca was arrested last night at his home. The arrest was done under the Sedition Act. Read more from Kickdefella in Penarik Beca in Police Custody.
Today is not a good day. I am coughing like a dog... got up late because lack of sleep (because of the cough)... got into massive traffic jam because of the bloody roadblocks the police have errect... just because they are charging Anwar for the sodomy case. Why roadblocks..? It's anybody's guess... but for me its shows police stupidity (the police superiors)... no offence to the lower ranking ones... korang pun sure menyampah buat roadblock ni... tengok muka pun tau.

And then this arrest news... under Sedition Act... really makes my blood boil. Don't know what is seditious in Bakaq's writings... his last writing was about Rafidah's proposal of power transfer to her deputy Sharizat... he commented that it does not goes well with the Wanita UMNO's grassroot... does not look democratic at all. Nothing seditious at all.

I guess he got arrested because of his second last posting. You all can read the last two postings 'Sentuhan kecundang' here and 'Hukuman ke atas kaki rasuah' here.

No cheers for today... the country is really going down the drain... all because of this guy... he is really under distress. That is why I am displaying this...

SD again...

Another SD... this time from the Pusrawi doctor who is the first doctor to examine Saiful Bukhari's ass for the alleged sodomy case. RPK (Raja Petra Kamarudin) has reveal this SD in his posting What the IGP and AG do not know......yet. Looks like the good doctor is protecting himself from somebody or something. Makes this 'wayang' much more interesting now. For Anwar's supporters... they will say that this is proof that the sodomy case is purely a government conspiracy. Don't know what Anwar's detractors would comment on this SD... quite tough to deflect this. The government's argument saying the doctor is just a normal GP really does not hold water... especially when the doctor clearly explain what he did in his SD.

Just read below and do your own conclusion...

Really want to see how the Government handles this... I bet you that they will make a boo-boo just like last time. Sometimes people are so dumb... they'll do the same mistakes all over again...

Upside down...

One of me favourite blogger Kickdefella has started this campaign as a mark of protest. If anyone have a reason to disagree with the manner the country is heading, then you have a cause to join him and raise the Malaysian flag 'Jalur Gemilang' upside down. The upside down flag is accepted as official signal of distress. By displaying it properly, it is not meant to be or it is not recognised as any type of disrespect.
Read his entry on why he is doing this here.

Looks like the campaign is getting its momentum as many are now joining him as shown here and here.

Me... I support what Kickdefella is doing 100%... but I like Topengperak_Xinwugi's idea more. I like my country flag the way it is (although it resembles the US)... looks horrible if it is upside down. So I will follow the blog Perisik Rakyat. It is the PM that I am angry with so it is the PM's picture that I will post upside down. No qualms to anybody that wants to raise their flags upside down... but to the ones who does not have the heart to but are frustrated with the way the nation is handled... how about doing this for a change ;) . I'm joining Perisik Rakyat's campaign...
Tak hormat pemimpin? Piiirahh... ini pemimpin tak hormat rakyat.

MRR2... strike three...

This is the 3rd time that the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) is being closed for the shoddy work done by the contractors. Why is the government so dumb? Lucky for Samy Vellu that he is out of the ministry but still he must be answerable as the two repairs were done during his time. And he must answer to this also (taken from Sun2Surf)...
MRR2: Govt went against our advice, says Halcrow
by Tan Yi Liang

PETALING JAYA (Aug 5, 2008) : The solution adopted by the Works Ministry to repair the original cracks that appeared on the Middle Ring Road II (MRR2) flyover in Kepong on Aug 9, 2004 were "not recommended" by Halcrow Consulting Ltd.

"I would like to emphasise that although Halcrow conducted detailed investigations into the original cause of the cracks, the government went against our advice not to use pre-stressed carbon fibre to strengthen the pillar heads because of its limited ductility (capacity to deform before fracture)," Halcrow engineer Roger Buckby said.

He said Halcrow had identified the primary cause of the cracks as "expansion caused delayed ettringite formation (DEF) due to the formation of sulfate and an alum-based mineral compound called ettringite".

"Ettringite is a normal product of cement hydration. When you have fairly high temperatures (above 70 degrees C), the formation of ettringite is delayed and incomplete, but if water can penetrate in a later stage through cracks and seepage in the hardened concrete, which it did on the MRR2, it will expand and cause cracks," said Buckby, who prepared a report for Halcrow which was submitted to the Works Ministry in 2004.

Buckby, who spoke to theSun in a phone interview and later via email today, stressed that Halcrow was not the company responsible for carrying out the final repair works on the MRR2 pillars which cracked on Sunday, raining concrete fragments on motorists from under the flyover.

"My company was not appointed to undertake the detailed design and supervision of the remedial works, which I understand was done by Leonhardt & Andra, a German consultant," he said, pointing out that the recent incident was possibly due to a rupture of one of the prestressed carbon fibre straps.

However, Buckby added: "Without close inspection, I cannot give an informed professional opinion on the cause, or on the nature and extent of any remedial works that may be required, but it is clearly of concern."

It was the third time since the opening of the flyover, in stages between 1999 and 2003, that cracks have forced the closure of the 1.7km express link.

It was first closed in August 2004 when cracks were found on 31 of its 33 pillars as a result of improper anchoring of the crossbeams. It was repaired and re-opened on Nov 13 the same year.

The MRR2 was closed for the second time in February 2006 and re-opened fully to traffic the following December after repairs were completed.
You pay these guys millions yet you didn't take their advice. Now we have to repair the damn thing again... for the third time!!! This is tax payers money we are talking. And we are talking millions down the drain. Can't wait for government response to this... don't know what bullshit answer they are going to cook up. Next time put a design guarantee clause in the contract. Make it 10 years long. If the design is flawed.. then Government will be covered and the contractors are answerable for their shoddy work. Haiya.. itu pun kena ajar ke..?

The foot follows the hand...

Just read this from my friend's blog Jurnal Memori.

Note: This action will make you waste a couple of minutes of your time (if you are really doing something important). Else... enjoy.

While sitting.. rotate your right foot clockwise. While doing this... draw number 6 with your righ index finger in the air.

Bet your right foot is now rotating anti-clockwise ;) . The thing is... the action is preprogrammed in your brain. I wonder why God make it like this but it is fasinating... no?

For those who didn't manage this thing... go to a doctor ASAP... you need to get your brain checked... really.

MuqabaLah... tendang Pak Lah...

What I want to write and say has already been written by one of my favourite blogger... Kickdefella. Read his post Baling Batu Tangan Sembunyi Dekat Belakang. It is exactly what I want comment about what is going on lately between UMNO and PAS.

Look... muzakarah... muqabalah... sleep together do anything... just focus on getting rid of Pak Lah before more damage is done.

To the PAS people who created this mess... go get a holiday. Haiya... what were you all thinking? Still glad Tok Guru Nik Aziz is as sharp as ever. Now Husam... bila mau tanding Timbalan Presiden? I am getting sick of the current one... got high hopes for him but tsk... tsk... not man enough to even say sorry or admit he has done wrong. Even Mahfuz for what-ever-reason also says sorry.

I am with Kickdefella... what ever platform you are PAS, UMNO, DAP, MCA, MIC, PKR, etc... Melayu ke, Cina ke, India ke... Malaysians... kick Pak Lah out... now.
