Maal Hijrah and a Happy New Year...

To all who know me... may the new year bring you joy and happiness. Happy 1430H and 2009 AD.

And please do not forget the Palestinians. I could only pray for their safety... the attack by the Zionist must be stopped. I've copied a statement from Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad taken from his blog.
The Kuala Lumpur Foundation to Criminalise War is shocked and angered over the Israeli invasion of Gaza since Saturday 27 December 2008. Our hearts go to the people of Gaza in this time of great distress.

We call upon the international community to immediately act in concert to call upon Israel to stop the bombing of Gaza and the slaughter of innocent lives forthwith. We support the call by the United Nations for an immediate ceasefire and an end to all military operations to facilitate relief work and delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

The Foundation also calls upon the governments of the United States, Britain and other major powers to put necessary pressure on Tel Aviv to stop the inhuman slaughter of Palestinian men, women and children in Gaza with bombs and other weapons.

Man Utd are Champions of the World...

Man Utd became Champions of the FIFA Club World Cup. They won the cup after a tough 1-0 win over Ecuador's LDU Quito. Man Utd dominate the match even when they were down to 10 men. Rooney scored the winning goal after an assist from Ronaldo.

Personally I don't have high regards for the tournament... but hey... it is nice to have on the trophy cabinet. Hope they come back stronger and win the Premiership.

Man Utd are the Club Champions of the World... hahaha :D

Frost and snow this week...

Today is indeed a frosty day... it was expected as it has been foggy for the last 2 days. Now I know why I didn't continue staying in England after my studies... its freezing cold out here. Never much enjoy the winter but hey... they forecast snow tomorrow. The kids will be estatic much like I was with my first snow. Will get the camera ready.

Now... need to stay near the heater. Cold and a splitting headache... not a good combination.

Happy Birthday Ryne...

Today is my son's birthday. So Happy Birthday Ryne... can't believe you are eight now. It was like yesterday I was holding you on my arms as a little baby.

Bought Ryne a Ben 10 cake. He loves it until he taste it... didn't like it. Luckily me and my wife like it (well... I only eat the white chocolate... don't like cakes).

It is Guy Fawkes Night in the UK. They celebrate this night by building bonfires and fireworks displays. A very hectic night for the UK firemen ;) . Anyway I told Ryne that they burn fireworks to celebrate his birthday... he smiled proudly but I know he knew that I was only joking.

Ryne... Abah and Mama loves you very much. Have fun and enjoy life like an 8 year old kid should.

Barack Obama... first black US President...

Change has come to the US as they elected Barack Obama as their first black President. The dream of Martin Luther King finally came true. Who have thought that the US will have a black President. Well... there goes all the black president jokes.

Barack Obama won millions of the US voters hearts not just by his cool charisma and unflappy style but also a well calculated campaign through the use of the internet and new technology thus getting his message to all his voters especially the young, susceptible-to-change voters. This is what happen to Malaysia where Pakatan Rakyat used the internet to get their message through to voters. Conclusion.... internet rules..!

Wouldn't have dreamed of a black US President but hey... if you have the will and guts... anything is possible. The US is truly the land where hopes and dreams can become a reality. Will Malaysia have a non-Malay PM? I like to think yes but not in this century. We are not ready yet... not as mature as the US... it took them over 200 years to have a black President.

As I watched the news of the newly elected 44th President of the United States of America... one thing becomes apparent. The US people really wanted a change. Why? There is no mention of the 43rd President any where in the news during and after the campaign... nada... zero... Bush who? They really want to forget his gun-ho cowboy years as President.

I wonder if Malaysia's 5th PM will suffer the same fate... what is that guys name? Pak Lah who?

Khairy Jamaluddin demonised..?

Khairy Jamaluddin... showing his true colors of being a cry baby... recently gave an exclusive interview to the Malay Mail which he claims he is being demonised. Well... Rocky has something to say in this new revelation... read here.

Khairy is currently been lagging in votes in the Umno Youth's chief race. Cheer up Khairy... you have already passed the minimum requirement to run for election, why sulking like a cry baby? Is it because you are being hounded with articles like this and this and this? Haiya... take it like a true leader la... don't sulk. Like you said... Just look at my track records... well... read this and see what track record you are boosting about. Oh... you have a track record of winning post uncontested... that I can remember.

My comment..... hahahahahahaha... hahahahahaha... hahahahahahahahaha... hahahahahahahaha... hahahahahaha... what a bunch of crap coming out from your mouth... looking at your picture in the Malay Mail, I think you realize it too.

Lewis Hamilton wins the F1 Championship...

I have been an admirer of this kid since he burst into the F1 scene last year. It was heart breaking last year when he lost the F1 Championship by 1 point on the last day of the race.

Today's race was nail-biting... nearly giving me a heart attack. Felipe Massa was in pole position all day... meaning Hamilton needs to finish 5th or Massa will clinch the title. Hamilton did it the hard way. On the final lap, he was 6th when he was passed by Vettel. I was swearing like hell... Hamilton blew it again I thought... damn it. He was pressing like bat out of hell but the car just could not pass Vettel.

But with 2 corners to go... Vettel and Hamilton passed the 4th place Toyota's Timo Glock..! Apparently Glock choice of tyres made him slow as snail for the final lap (it was raining the last 4 laps). Ferrari was cheering as they thought Hamilton finished 6th but the last laugh was Hamilton as he finished 5th over taking Glock.

Hamilton made history as the youngest ever F1 Champion at 23. He became the first black champion and first Briton since Damon Hill to win the F1 top prize. Judging from his driving... I am sure he will be winning championship for years to come. All we need now is for Mc Laren team to continue supporting this kid. We are looking at a legend in a making.

Ryne's first day at an English school...

After over a month of coming to the UK, I've finally registered my son to a school. Its a bit far from our house but it is a very good school. All the other schools near to our house are full.

There are plenty of Muslim kids at this school, so they also serve halal food in the canteen... and my son loves the food. He said he ate fish and chips with corn and peas plus he drinks smooties. And I thought he hated corn.

I am glad he is doing okay at school as he was nervous at first. Not to mention the weather today was freezing cold. He said he will have swimming lessons on Friday. He can't remember what he learned today except for history where he learned something about Tudors... hem... I ask him too google it (heard about Tudors but what the hell is it actually..? My guest will be about English royalty).

Next to go to school is my daughter Mia... still could not find her a place as the nurseries are all full. Will have to wait for the January intake... hemm... I'm stuck... can't take a job without finding nurseries for the kids...

The Mumblings of a grumpy old Prime Minister...

It has been a long time since I updated my blog... have a reason for it. If you see my profile... I am now at Manchester, UK. I just got my internet set-up in my new home... and I can tell you its a bloody hassle. Customer service around here is as slow as snail... if you think TM is slow... most of the British utilities companies are much more worse.

Got internet and immediately read all the blog postings of my favourite bloggers. Tun Dr. Mahathir has pen his thoughts on the upcoming UMNO Elections. Thought it was a decent enough article... nothing to be angry about... but... tsk... tsk... tsk...
KOTA KINABALU: The gloves came off yesterday. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's patience finally wore off and he lambasted his predecessor, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, and minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Abdullah said Dr Mahathir was acting as if it was he (Dr Mahathir) who should determine who played what role in the party.

"Who is he ? He has left Umno but he still issues orders to members of Umno. The party does not need to take orders from anyone who is no longer a member of the party," said Abdullah who was here to attend the Hari Malaysia and closing of the Merdeka month celebrations.

"He is trying to create a rift and (incite) anger and hatred. What is wrong with people who work with me? He is trying to teach people to hate one another.

The Umno president said this in referring to a posting on Dr Mahathir's blog, calling on Umno to rid itself of all those who supported Abdullah, referring to them as "toadies".

Abdullah also criticised International Trade and Industry Minister Muhyiddin for not respecting the decision that had been made by the party's supreme council for the Umno elections to be held in March, by calling for an earlier date.

"Is he so impatient to become the deputy prime minister? That is, if he gets the support. What is the meaning of all this? I am not happy with this.

"When I decided not to contest, I did so to prevent a split among members. (Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri) Najib and I have agreed on this. I have explained to him why I need (more) time. He agreed and so did the supreme council.

"Is he trying to stop me from making reforms?" Abdullah asked, saying he did not discount the possibility that the criticisms and call for the elections to be held in December were aimed at getting him out earlier from his position as prime minister.

"I will be ready to go when my work is done. No supreme council member disagreed (with his decision) and suddenly this comes up."

Umno members, he said, would not be fooled by people who tried to create anger and hatred. - nst
Tsk... tsk... tsk... What more do you want Pak Lah? What reforms do you want to do in this couple of months? For God sake... you had 5 years to do it... but I guess you are too bzzzzzz ;) Tun are only advice Najib to not follow your footsteps... which means chuck out your lousy, kiss ass advisors and cronies.

And what is this 'Bapa Demokrasi' Koh Tsu Koon suggesting? Please la... you don't deserve any 'Bapa' gelaran whether its 'Bapa Pembohong Tegar', 'Bapa Flip Flop' more so 'Bapa Demokrasi'. Its better if history remembers you as the only Malaysia PM which has no 'Bapa' gelaran so that when my sons and my grandsons ask me why, I can just say he did nothing for the country so people just want to forget the period of flip-flop decisions and unfulfilled promises.

Step down now Pak Lah... and stop grumbling and blaming others for your incompetence.

Pak Lah takes Defence, Najib takes Finance...

This was taken from Malaysia Today...
(The Malaysian Insider) In a minor Cabinet reshuffle today, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi named his deputy Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak as finance minister.

Abdullah, who was the finance minister, will take over Najib's defence ministry portfolio. He said he may step down sooner than 2010.

The swap was announced after today's Cabinet meeting.

Najib has also been made deputy chairman of Khazanah Nasional.

Today's announcement comes amid widespread speculation over a transition plan hammered out between the country's top two leaders for Najib to take over power in 2010.

Said Abdullah today:' "The transition is flexible. It is up to me. It will be no later than 2010 but it may be sooner."

Abdullah added that he would also offer himself as a candidate to be Umno president while Najib would stand as deputy president at this year's Umno elections.

Najib, who was also at the press conference, said: "I would like to thank the prime minister for his confidence.

"Giving me this post shows he is magnanimous, it shows his sincerity in picking me as his successor."

Sources said Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz is also expected to be named de facto law minister to replace Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, who quit this week over the Internal Security Act (ISA) arrests of DAP leader Teresa Kok and two others.
What's the matter Pak Lah... afraid of a coup d’état..?

Another blogger arrested...

My favorite blogger Sheih a.k.a Kickdefella has been arrested under Sedation Act. For more news click Nuraina's blog and Rocky Bru's. They are not using the ISA... hemmm... smart move.

No news what the charges are but I think Sheih was arrest because of his upside down flag campaign. Pak Lah called him evil guy for leading the campaign. Wonder what he thinks of this...
PM in distress

Happy Birthday Hana...

Just want to wish my wife Happy Birthday...

You are still beautiful as the first time I met you 16 years ago... :D

Love you always.

The slander @ fitnah article that gets Teresa in trouble...

Don't know who is this Zaini Hassan but if there is no truth in this article, then you are committing slander in this holy month of Ramadhan... tsk... tsk... and to think the devil is in chains during this period. Read and judge it but for me this reporter should receive the same treatment as the Sin Chew Daily News reporter Tan Hoon Cheng if you use the logic. Opsss... forgot that his life is not in danger ;) And Utusan should get a show cause letter... no?
Cuit

Sembang punya sembang, tiba-tiba beliau menyentuh mengenai soal suraunya.

Akhir kalam, semoga Allah menyelamatkan kita semua. Amin.
Yeah... hope Allah save us from guys like you... Amin.

Teresa have gave her statement in her blog denying this slander report. Read it here. In this holy month of Ramadhan... I am quite disappointed with muslims like Khir Toyo, Satim and Zaini. No maaf zahir dan batin for you guys this year...

Its high time for Pak Lah to step down... Undur Lah...

If you still have some dignity left... resign please Pak Lah aka PM in distress. I don't know what is playing inside the thick skull of yours. I don't know how you manage to carry on meeting the public with the thick face of yours. Two of your lieutenants (well not exactly lieutenants... but you get my drift) have spoken... directly or indirectly... resign gracefully now or face being remove. Your plan of handing over power in 2010 is not feasible and undemocratic. Hell... you think that the UMNO presidency is like a harta pusaka?... can be handed over to your favorite person? MT only endorse your proposal but it is up to the grassroots to decide who should lead. Please take note below:
“Article 9(3) of the party Constitution says that the party president, deputy president and all supreme council members have to be decided by the members,”
Najib is being a gentlemen by asking indirectly for you to step down now. Najib wants UMNO delegates to decide. Can't you read between the lines..? Or are you still bzzzzz..? Thought you have a lot of work to do ;)

Muhyidin is also a gentlemen... albeit a bit more direct by merely asking you to revise the transition plan. Tak paham-paham lagi ke?

Be a gentlemen and step down gracefully. Your statement of transition plan was a done deal does not hold water. Like I said... read Article 9(3) of the party Constitution. Do you think UMNO is owned by you? I like to quote:
The people do not want us to spend all our time politicking as then there will be no solution to their problems - Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi
Stay true to your words... stop politicking and step down now... else there will be no solution to the nations problem.

I make you a deal... step down now and I will stop doing this...
Deal..?

Reporter released, when will the others..?

Sin Chew Daily News reporter Tan Hoon Cheng was released barely 24 hours after her detention under the draconian law ISA. Read here for the report. Raja Petra and MP Teresa Kok is not released yet.

Why they were detained under ISA? The STAR reports this:
PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Today news portal editor Raja Petra Kamarudin was arrested under the Internal Security Act for allegedly being a threat to security, peace and public order.

Raja Petra, 58, who was arrested under Section 73(1) of the ISA, is alleged to have posted articles deemed seditious and that also belittle Islam.

Last week, the Department of Islamic Development (Jakim) and several Muslim organisations lodged a police report against him for allegedly insulting Malays, Muslims and Islam.

On Sept 6, under The Corridors of Power article posted on Malaysia Today, Raja Petra had hinted that it might be his last article until Sept 16, if he were to be detained under the ISA. He is banking on Anwar’s Sept 16 promise for an early release from ISA.

“Yes, I too have placed not only my money, but also my freedom on Anwar. And if Anwar fails to deliver his promise on Sept 16, not only he but I as well am headed for a fall,” he said in his posting.

Raja Petra, founder of the controversial news portal, was charged in the Sessions Court on Aug 15 on three counts of criminal defamation over his statutory declaration on the murder of Mongolian translator Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Sin Chew Daily reporter Tan Hoon Cheng is believed to have been arrested over her report on former Bukit Bendera Umno division chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail’s racist remarks while campaigning for the Permatang Pauh by-election last month.

Tan, 32, is an award-winning journalist with nine years of experience. She is a Mass Communication graduate from Universiti Sains Malaysia.

DAP’s Seputeh MP Teresa Kok is also assemblyman for Kinrara and a senior executive councillor in charge of investment, industry and trade.

Kok, 43, is believed to have been picked up in connection with a residents petition in Puchong over a mosque.

Former mentri besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo had allegedly accused Kok of being involved.

She subsequently denied the allegation and demanded an apology from Dr Mohd Khir and the newspaper which reported it.
And here is the reply from the Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar (known by some as Kodomo Lion) on why these arrest were made: (taken from The Star)
Syed Hamid said the police had detained Tan because they had received information that her life was being threatened and there might be possible injury to her and the police wanted to get to the bottom of it.

Tan was the reporter who first reported on Bukit Bendera Umno division chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail’s allegedly racist comments during the Permatang Pauh by-election in which he said the Chinese were “squatters” in the country.

This caused a furore among the non-Malays and led to Umno giving him a three-year suspension for his comments and actions.

Syed Hamid said the police thought it was best to get first-hand information from Tan and thus took her in under the ISA and released her a day later after they got the necessary information and found no reason to hold her.

“I don’t think we are being unfair or that we mistreated her in any way. We acted professionally and after a day released her,” he said, when asked if Tan had posed a security threat in any way.

Asked why the police did not just ask Tan to come in for questioning instead of arresting her, Syed Hamid said it was always difficult when it came to the police when dealing with reporters.

“All of us are subject to the law. When the police feel it is best to bring the person in under ISA, they do so. I think the most important thing is not to exercise unfairness. When they got what they wanted and found they had no reason to hold her and that she’s not a security threat and not disturbing public order, they released her immediately,” he said.

On Raja Petra, he said, the blogger had been given numerous warnings as well as been charged but he continued to create tension.

As for Kok, he said, she had supposedly questioned the sensitive issues such as the azan (call for prayers for Muslims) to be stopped and that could cause ill will and disharmony.

“Based on police work, they have found there has been real fear on the ground because people are worried of what can possibly happen,” he said.

On why Ahmad was not detained for making racist comments, he explained that Umno had already punished him by suspending him for three years and stripping him from the party post while the police was also still investigating a sedition report against him.

When asked why action was not taken against other politicians like Datuk Seri Khir Toyo for racist remarks made, he said people should stop looking at things from an ethnic angle and start thinking as Malaysians.

To a question, Syed Hamid said he did not believe the Government would call a state of emergency because the country was well under control and “we have taken all sorts of preventive measures.”
Now if you believe Syed Hamid... you believe me when I told you that pigs can fly. First and foremost there is no reason for the use of ISA. Even other BN component parties are shocked (you never heard of this during Tun Dr. Mahathir's time).

To arrest the reporter and not the perpetrator..? Then release her after public pressure..? Tsk... tsk... flip flop again. And to cover up saying that her arrest was because she is in danger? Sounds not convincing.

Ahmad Ismail not detained because he has been punished by UMNO? That party matters... this is national matters... if the reporter is detained then the perpetrator should also be detained under the same reasoning. Doesn't Ahmad's life in danger also... no? He needs police protection... no? See... ISA is just for people other than UMNO. Khir Toyo wasn't detained although he was the one who make the remarks on Teresa... I rest my case... hemmm...

This looks more like a crackdown and intimidation than anything else. Down with ISA... and you guess it... PM in distress

Crappy day for RPK and others...

Meant to post this early but me being extra busy vacating my house means I don't have access to internet. Its a crappy day for RPK yesterday. He was detained under ISA section 73 at 13:10. Read here and here for more details. Two days ago they lift the ban on Malaysia Today... then they arrest him. See Pak Lah is doing his famous flip... flop... flup.... ban and then un-ban. Now he doesn't know how to handle things... he uses the ISA... the draconian act... arresting people with out trial. This is the Islam Had...hari that he is promoting.

Now the crackdown widens... MP Teresa Kok and Sin Chew Daily journalist Tan Hoon Cheng were also arrested under the Act. Read here and here on their arrest. Will this be another OPS Lalang? Only time will tell. But it seems now that Pak Lah has no balls and have to resort to ISA. Why use the ISA when you have other appropriate laws that you can use? People... this is the true Pak Lah... a plank-of-wood leader who don't know a thing about leading Malaysia. He and his minions should be thrown out of this Government. He is truly a PM in distress.Anwar... as much as I hate to say this... go on with your 916 thingy... if you can muster it... hell go for it. As long as Pak Lah is out... I'm happy...

UMNO people... do your duty... let Ku Li be UMNO President... What more signs do you guys want? Tun Dr. Mahathir has pledge support. Dulu dok cium tangan dia macam tak ingat punya... sekarang dengar le cakap dia. You want to wait for 2010? Muhyiddin also thinks its too long... too late. Don't believe Pak Lah's statement that he got plenty things to do... hell... Najib can handle what he wants to do now. Try and read from Husin Lempoyang. You get the idea why Pak Lah wants to stay longer.

Al-Fatihah for Tan Sri A Samad Ismail...

A great writer, nationalist, journalist, political activist, father and a great man. He died 17:58 yesterday. Been reading his daughters blog Nuraina and Maria for ages. Followed Nuraina's postings about Pak Samad's health since he was admitted. Yesterday was a clear sign he was losing the battle. I never have the chance to talk or hear him talk but I do grow up reading his commentaries in the newspapers. Only known he was the founder of Singapore's People Action Party (PAP) about a year ago... buta sejarah tul aku ni.

Our nation has lost a great man. May Allah bless his soul for all the kind things he has done for the country.

Tun Dr Mahathir needs help...

... to fight Pak Lah. He admits he can't do this without support especially from UMNO. Non of the UMNO leaders shows the desire to act against Pak Lah (except for Ku Li of course). He even call UMNO leaders useless as they are only interested in getting something for themselves but do not care if UMNO and this country are totally destroyed.

He also said that the Opposition will also destroy this country if they win and form the Government. Well... the opposition leader is Anwar so go figure why he said that ;) . But if UMNO leaders do not do anything to act against Pak Lah then Sept 16 will be Pakatan Rakyat's field day. 12 days to go man... we will see if Anwar can deliver. Then we can see the true colors of Anwar with power.

Anyway read Tun's posting WHY DON'T I DO SOMETHING. Resist the urge to paste his posting on my blog because... Tun's blog have reached 6 million visitors. Pak Lah tak nak block ke? Tun gave a hint that they might block his blog as he can't access his internet at home. Well Tun... welcome to Steamyx (did I spell this right? Could not even bother).

Berbatov signs for Manchester United...

In a dramatic transfer deadline day, Dimitar Berbatov finally signed for Manchester for a fee of 30.75 million pounds. The striker has signed a 100,000-pounds-per-week four year contract which he admits could have double if he were to choose Manchester City. The Bulgarian will play in the no. 9 shirt and admits he is ready to show what he is made of in the famous red shirt by proclaiming it is his time

It was a rather crazy transfer dateline with the talk of the day was the transfer of Robinho from Real Madrid to Manchester City. Yes... Man City... the Manchester Blue side football club. They were bought over by a Abu Dhabi consortium that is so rich... Abramovic looks like a kid with a piggy bank in comparison. Their aim... to finish top four of the Premiership this season... take the title in 2009-2010 season and a Champions League champion within three years.

See..? With big money you can dream big. The news that they snap Robinho after agreeing with Real Madrid price of 32.5 million pounds really drown the news of Berbatov's transfer. Man City are now a force to be reckon with as they are now willing to spend big money on players. They even wanted to buy Berbatov and value him at 60 million pounds... see below of their fantasy team as portrait by The Sun.Crazy... but as I will be living in Manchester for a couple of years... this is good :D . The Premiership trophy will never leave Manchester :D .

Perutusan Tok Guru Nik Aziz sempena Ramadhan...

Ryne completes a day of fasting for the first time...

Ryne... my son completes a day of fasting for the first time. He is 8 years old and already practicing to fast. By 6 o'clock in the evening he still has abundance of energy right up until break time. I remember when I was his age... could only managed half a day... tsk... tsk.

Proud of my son...

Selamat Hari Kebangsaan and Selamat Beramal Di Bulan Ramadhan...

Firstly... Selamat Hari Kebangsaan. One of my worst Hari Kebangsaan year... thought last years was the worst. Didn't give a hoot on what was going on last night. Felt the need not to celebrate. What to celebrate? I am using the word 'Kebangsaan' and not 'Merdeka' since I feel that we are not fully 'merdeka'. Go figure if we still have Pak Lah as our PM.
PM in distress

Secondly... selamat beramal di bulan Ramadhan. Sure time-time macam ni surau penuh... Alhamdulillah... nikmat bulan Ramadhan. But don't think I will slow down in criticizing Pak Lah... no way man. But I will be posting less next month as I am packing my bags out of this country. Not meaning I'll be leaving for good. Just that I'm looking for experience elsewhere... well actually in Manchester, UK... woohooo... Old Trafford... here I come.

The Government blocks Malaysia Today...

Pak Lah government made another boo-boo. They are blocking my favorite website... Malaysia Today despite Malaysia's promise to the world that the Government of this country will not censor the Internet. Just like Rocky posting... we are telling foreign investors to go and fly kite elsewhere... read Google, Go Away! Read also below:
Government to target blogosphere next

Malaysian Insider (26/8/08) Next up: a crackdown on bloggers. This possibility looms large after the government reached a sober assessment that it could all end in tears for the Barisan Nasional at the next general election if tough action is not taken to counter allegations on the Net and hold owners of blogs accountable.

This conclusion was reached during a meeting last week involving several Cabinet ministers and senior government officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Government officials noted that some 400,000 new voters are registered each year. Assuming that the next polls are in five years, there would be two million new voters the next time the BN seeks a fresh mandate. A large chunk of these two million voters are likely to obtain their news and information from websites and blogs, and not from the mainstream media.

Several ministers noted that if the government followed its current policy of allowing allegations by bloggers to go unchallenged, this would create the perception that the information being posted is accurate.

"There is a growing consensus in government that those who run websites and blogs should be held accountable and this means that laws should be used to take action against those who defame and spread disinformation.

"If not, we are going to have a situation where everyone will be free to make all sorts of allegations with no downside at all. There is a fear that the trust level with BN would be very low if nothing is done, '' said a senior government official familiar with details of the meeting.

The prevailing mood in the government against the alternative media is one of frustration. After decades of being able to control newspapers and television stations through a raft of legislation, government officials and politicians are finding that their tools are useless in setting boundaries for new media.

At last week's meeting, an official of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) explained that the authorities have not come down hard on websites and bloggers because Section 3 of the Communications and Multimedia Act prohibits any form of censorship.

But government officials corrected him and said that the guarantee that the Internet would not be censored did not preclude legal action from being taken against bloggers for defamation and sedition.

They pointed out that the Singapore government had hauled several bloggers to court for a series of offences and suggested that the Malaysian government should follow suit. In the aftermath of Election 2008, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said that the government paid a heavy price by allowing accusations and reports on the Internet to go unchallenged.

He said that the BN underestimated the power of the Internet and committed a serious misjudgment by relying on the mainstream media in the run-up to the general election. His comments resulted in the Information Ministry reaching out to some prominent bloggers and giving them some air-time on television but by and large the relationship between the alternative media and the government has remained testy.

In recent months, Raja Petra Kamaruddin, the country's best-known political blogger, has had a running battle with Najib and his wife, implicating both of them in the October 2006 murder of Mongolian model Altantuya Shariibuu. The DPM has also been on the receiving end of other damaging allegations.

His supporters in Umno have been pushing for a more hardnosed approach in dealing with bloggers and operators of news portals, arguing that the softer touch by the Abdullah administration has resulted in daily attacks on ministers and BN politicians.

Critics of the government said that instead of focusing on bloggers and the alternative media, they should strive for more accountability and transparency, and remove the shackles on the mainstream media.
But I can still read Malaysia today :P and they are fighting back... read Yeh, yeh, kita menang! When will the Government learn that in this day and age you can't censor the internet. This really shows how dumb Pak Lah is. Tun Dr. Mahathir didn't censor the internet during his tenure even though Malaysia Today bashed him like hell.

The PM is totally gone bonkers. He is really in distress. This poor bugger doesn't realize that people are feed up with him. Permatang Pauh by-election shows the reality... Anwar won big time... bigger majority... UMNO's vote were down from previous... even UMNO people vote for Anwar. It is high time for UMNO guys to kick this fella out now. What the people want is CHANGE... and people don't care if Anwar is a sodomite or a big liar because he promises change... and he shows he can deliver change. So people of UMNO... show that you guys can also change... kick Pak Lah out now! Read Tun Dr. Mahathir's posting Permatang Pauh. Kick Pak Lah now or UMNO will be the opposition come next election... baru padan muka seko-seko.

You guys can still link to Malaysia Today through my 'Blogs I click' :D

Anwar Ibrahim MP...

Never thought he would be back into the Parliament... but after ten years absent, he is now back. Anwar won the Permatang Pauh by-election. In The STAR... PKR claims that Anwar won by a majority of 17,652. Read here for full report.

Like it or not... Anwar is 'King' in Permatang Pauh. Did BN give a good fight? I don't think so. With all the character assassination campaign going on... BN was actually digging their own grave. People actually became more 'meluat' towards BN. Then came Khairy with his wild claims... making the grave even deeper. Yo Khairy... people are getting sick of you since the last GE... which part of 'meluat' don't you understand? Duduk rumah lain kali. Just like the father in law... syok sendiri.

Seriously... if BN thinks they could win in Permatang Pauh... they are truly living in BolehLah Land. The target of reducing Anwar's majority baffles me... who cares about reduce majority..? Anwar still wins.

Hopefully with Anwar in Parliament... there will be more serious governing from the Government. And we can see if Anwar can deliver what he promises come 16th September... if the liwat case did not get to him first.

Speaking of the liwat case... I am still baffled on why Anwar refuse to mubahalah. What is it that he is afraid of?

Fuel price review...

This was in The Star yesterday.
Govt to review fuel prices every 15 days
By PAUL CHOO and LOONG MENG YEE

KUALA LUMPUR: The Government has agreed to review fuel prices every 15 days instead of every month, said Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan.

He said with this, the Government would be able to further reduce fuel prices if global oil prices continued to drop.

Ka Chuan, who said he proposed the review period, said the decision was made during a Cabinet meeting on Friday.

“If this down trend of oil prices continue, we want to be able to make sure we can ease the burden of the rakyat by lowering fuel prices,” he told a press conference after attending the Utar Seventh Convocation ceremony, where he presented some 500 graduates with their accolades.

He said the mechanism, however, would take into consideration oil prices within a 15-day period and then only determine whether any reduction was viable.

Ka Chuan said it did not necessarily mean that fuel prices would drop if global oil prices went down.

He said global oil prices could fluctuate significantly within the 15-day period, making it hard to make a “guarantee” to reduce fuel prices.

He said the Government would have to take into consideration the extent of the drop or increase in prices before making a decision.

“Rest assured, however, petrol prices would never exceed RM2.70 a litre if global oil prices increase again,” he said.  Yeah right... with a flop flop leader like Pak Lah... can you believe him?

Ka Chuan, who is also MCA secretary-general also stressed that the 15-sen reduction in fuel prices was not made to woo voters in the Permatang Pauh by-election on Aug 26.Hehehe... anything helps dude... your target is to reduce Anwar's majority right? I recall the government want to reduce the price in September. It seems that Pak Lah is his usual self... lying to the public. Nak naik harga tipu... turun harga pun tipu gak ke? Eh... bukan tipu... surprise eh ;)

He said the move was made after considering fuel prices between Aug 1 and Aug 21.
Hemmm... I'll expect every 15 days, the fuel stations will be either empty like this...(picture taken from The Star) or full like this (picture taken from Utusan)...
Only in Malaysia dude... only in Malaysia. 'Entertainment' every 15 days... brought to you by the Malaysian flip flop government.

Anyway... at least our burden is reduced by fifteen sen... Anwar promised fifty sen reduction... but fifty... fifteen sounds similar... no? ;)

Evil blogger..?

Yesterday was my birthday. Been busy for the past couple of weeks... hence no time to update my blog. But I managed to read a couple of postings from other blogs and the news...

Our PM has gone bonkers... really. Instead of concentrating on the nation's well being and its economy, this guy is hooting around calling bloggers evil... just because of flying the Jalur Gemilang upside down. You can read his stupid comment here. Hey... I'm myself don't like the Jalur Gemilang upside down... it looks ugly... and I love me flag. But that does not warrant being called evil. I agree with Rocky on is posting... rapist, murderers... they are evil... not people who turn their flag's upside down. Flag upside down = distress... you moron. Examples as below:
In distress
In distress
Errr... seriously... its upside down... still the same? Tak distress kot.

You must know the reason why these people turn their beloved country's flag upside down... not resorting to calling people evil and abuse your power to ask the police to go and make an arrest. Go and read Tun Dr. Mahathir posts Merdeka. I totally agree with him.

Don't waste your time on petty things. Don't waste police time on this. While on the topic of wasting time... Pak Lah... resign terus la... letih la suruh banyak kali... wasting our time. Well... I'm still posting this upside down.

UMNO spent RM218 million...

... on the last 2004 General Election... and that is just for campaign paraphernalia. Read below (taken from Malaysia Today):
Pay up, Umno told

But party says the suit should have been directed at Barisan

(Today Online) - As Malaysia's United Malays National Organisation (Umno) braced itself for the tough Permatang Pauh by-election against opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, the ruling party has been dealt a fresh blow involving an election campaign scandal four years ago, reported Malaysiakini.

The news portal said in the March 2004 general election, Umno received campaign paraphernalia worth hundreds of millions of ringgit including posters, badges and banners — which it had refused to pay for.

The poll merchandise supplier, Elegant Advisory, has since taken the dispute to court.

Last month, the Kuala Lumpur High Court ordered Umno to pay RM218 million claimed by Elegant Advisory, reported Malaysiakini.

The amount is the highest-ever sum of money that Umno — which is the pillar of ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition — has been ordered to pay by a court of law.

The decision was a judgment in default delivered by the High Court on July 17 after Umno's lawyers failed to appear in court.

In response, Umno's treasurer Abdul Azim Mohd Zabidi filed an application in court on July 24 to set aside the judgment. In his affidavit, he argued that Elegant Advisory had sued the wrong body, reported Malaysiakini.

"I am stating that the defendant, Umno, is not a party which contested in the 11th General Election but it was BN, another registered body," he said in the affidavit.

Umno further argued that the campaign materials in question bore the BN's "dacing" (scale) logo, and not the Umno's logo of a "keris" (the traditional Malay dagger).

Malaysiakini said Elegant Advisory executive director Samsudin Ibrahim recently rebutted Mr Abdul Azim's argument that Umno was wrongly cited in the action.

The company contended that "Umno, as the biggest party in BN, has not only used the keris logo during the election but also used the dacing logo widely. BN is not a legal entity but it's a coalition of political parties, with Umno being its biggest party".
Hahaha... lame argument from Abdul Azim... dacing ke... keris ke... it is an open secret that UMNO never pays whatever jobs they ask you to do... selalu 'kencing' kontraktor. But I never thought it in millions!!! Wonder where they gonna get the money to pay from... hem... I can imagine ;) .

Some interesting comments from The Edge 'End the business of political contracts'.

Lim Guan Eng also commented as reported by The Star:
Umno exceeded election spending limit: Guan Eng

GEORGE TOWN: The sum of RM218mil that a High Court has ordered Umno to pay for 2004 general election campaign materials exceeds the 2004 general election spending limit, said DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

He said in a press statement here Tuesday the Kuala Lumpur High Court judgment meant that the party had exceeded the spending limit of RM94.3mil at the maximum of RM200,000 per parliamentary constituency and RM100,000 per state constituency.

It was reported Tuesday that a High Court deputy registrar had ordered Umno to pay the sum to supplier Elegant Advisory Sdn Bhd for printed materials, transportation and mineral water used by the party in the 2004 general election.

Lim said that under Section 19 of the Election Offences Act 1954, a candidate could not spend more than RM200,000 and RM100,000 respectively for a parliamentary and state constituency.

"Umno had claimed that the campaign materials were for Barisan Nasional and had nothing to do with Umno. With 219 parliamentary seats and 505 state seats contested in the 2004 general elections, this means that a party like Barisan that contested all seats cannot spend more than RM94.3mil or else Barisan's victories are illegal.

"With RM218mil spent whether by Barisan or Umno on campaign materials alone, this is more than double the legally permitted amount," said Lim.

He said that spending above the limits imposed by the Elections Offences Act 1954 was an illegal practice under Section 27, and subject to a fine of RM5,000 by the Sessions Court, disqualification as a wakil rakyat and removal of rights as a voter.

"However, such laws are marked more by its breach than its compliance," he added.

Lim said this might now be an academic question since the 2004 general election had been superseded by the 2008 general election.

"The Election Commission’s failure to act and question the legality of the 2004 general election victories by the Barisan government not only makes a mockery of the very election laws it has drafted but also the spirit of democracy that votes should not be bought and sold," he said. This is typical of the EC... I can imagine the DG lame response... 'I don't have juristriction in this matter'... bla... bla... bla...
But just for thought... if they don't pay... it means that they don't spend... Elegant Advisory Sdn Bhd was suppose to do this for free... that is why no case ler... ;) Maybe this is why EC fail to act... ;)

Funny email circulating...

Heard about this email... read it in Perisik Rakyat posting in The Candidate. So... I cut and paste it here... wonder if Pak Lah ever thinked of facing Anwar face to face...
PM: Okay people, you all know we have to face Anwar in Permatang Pauh and that is not exactly kacang puteh, so we must get the best candidate or we will be eaten alive.

Najib: Actually there is only one candidate here who can fight him there and he hails from a nearby constituency.

PM: Who, who? Call him now.

Najib: Its you Pak Lah. Only you can win there. I suggest you resign your seat and take on Anwar in PP. As for KB, it is a safe seat.

PM: Wow, what a good idea. When he trashed me real good, I will be without a seat in government and an easy target in our own elections in December. Very clever ha you. Why not you go there?

Najib: Cannot la. I am not from the North and the people are blaming me for that sodomy case so they won't take too kindly to me. I still believe you are the best candidate la.

PM: I know you la Najib. Okay, I could do it but when I resign, Khairy will act as the PM. You agree?

Najib: Er, er, it was just an idea la, and I can see that it is a bad one. Forget it la.

Samy: Er, Pak Lah. I also can. I have no seat now so I am free.

PM: Samy why don't you stop joking? We are serious you know.

Samy: I am serious la. Why you think I Indian, I cannot win in Permatang Pauh ka?

Najib: Hey Samy you can't even beat a Muslim fundamentalist if you were to contest in Mumbai la.

Annuar: Like this la. Lets accept facts, we know we are going to lose. Last I heard, punters are willing to kuyu BN about 5000 votes, its a lost cause la. Why not we say we are fed-up with them playing a fool with the elections and boycott the by elections.

PM: You mean run away?

Annuar: If we lose with a smaller majority, Anwar will still get in but if we lose with a bigger majority, malu and mampoih la.

Samy: Why must lose with bigger majority?

Annuar: In March no sodomy case also we lost by nearly 14K votes, now got sodomy charges and everyone don't believe it, so what happen?

Muhyidin: I think we put Ezam la. If anybody is going to get slaughtered let it be him.

Nazri: Why not the last candidate, Uz Firdaus?

PM: I heard he is afraid that if he loses, his chances for Ketua Bahagian would be lost.

Samy: I know, I know. We put that Sepol fellow. In our posters we put a picture of his arsehole. Surely can get sympathy one.

Kayveas: Hey Samy, you go play outside with the Puteri UMNO la, kacau only. Talk like retarded boy only. Chit.

Samy: Hey Kayveas, what you say? I cannot tahan you already la, come la if you are brave.

PM: Shut up you two. Go to the corner there and turn towards the wall. Go now.

Nazri: What did Tan Sri Rashid say?

PM: Not enough time to bring the Nepalese, Tibetans and Eskimos here. We have run out of ICs to issue.

Samy: Hey Najib, what about your wife? Nowadays everybody is afraid of her what. Put her la. Surely very explosive affair one.

Najib: Shut up la you. What my wife did to you that you want to talk about her like that? You want me to call her here ka?

Samy: Haiyo, no la. Joking only la. I want to die in one piece.

PM: We still do not have a candidate.

Najib: No matter who the candidate is we will still lose so why bother with a strong one? Lets just put in someone insignificant and let him be slaughtered.

PM: Yes I agree. Aaaa, Samy! Samy! Are you really interested in Permatang Pauh?

Penarik Beca writes again...

And he's not happy of being arrested... because of his clumsy mistake. He shouldn't have cut and paste the rendered police crest... and he is sorry about it. Read what he is not happy about here.

Apa-apa le... janji kau dah keluar lokap. But why was he arrested by Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Komersil (JSJK)? What is the relationship between rendering police crest and commercial? Anybody knows?

Guide to Fantasy Footie...

I have been playing Yahoo UK Fantasy Football for ages. Been playing with me friends in our own little league. Last season was the worst as my team ended the season last in the league.

This season they change the layout of the website. It more interactive and much more easier to navigate... I like tis new format. They also added a blog section which really helps in giving tips on players and latest news. Check them out here. They give good reviews.. really. Also helpful site is the PhysioRoom.com which details the injury list for all Premiership teams. Sometimes not that accurate... but it helps. Don't want to choose an injured player... huh.

The rules haven't change... which is good. Because of that, I tend to play the 3-4-3 formation or the 3-5-2 formation. Players who score goals or assist will be given more points hence less the defender you have the better. Also try to choose defenders which plays as wingbacks or provide crosses as they will be involve in attacking more (hence more points). Defenders who scores often does help.

Check out for new signings in the league as they are cheap when they enter the system. Remember you only got 100 million to spend on 11 players so cheap players who scores plenty does help. With players like Ronaldo who is valued at 27.09 million... it really helps. BTW... you guys must be out of your mind to get Ronaldo with this bloody-out-of-this-world-price... he is injured for God sake... won't be playing till end of September I heard.

So... join in... try to see if you are a real footie manager... put your footie knowledge to the test. It is fun... and if you play with friends in your own little league... you got bragging rights if you are the champion... :D . Try a beat me team... Little Green Men. With me unemployed and staying in the UK... me got an upperhand... hehehe.

Apa mau cerita...

Read that blogger Bakaq was released from police custody in Rocky Bru's posting. Bakaq was apologetic about posting the rendered police crest but still stands by the contents of his posting. Bakaq quote:
"I would like to say that I regret putting the crest there. It was wrong, a stupid mistake. I would like to tender my sincere apology to the whole police force.

"I defended and still defend what I wrote but since the first moment they hauled me in, I've said without any reservation that I regretted having copied-and-pasted the image." - Taken from Rocky Bru
Alhamdulillah... Bakaq is safe and the police treated him well. Good job that the police maintain their professionalism... although I still question his arrest under Sedation Act... especially when we know know that Bakaq was arrested because of his posting which features the rendered police crest.

Anyway... things are back to normal and I'll do miss Bakaq writings as now he has no computer and modem... hence no new postings in his blog.
On another note... can you believe that I missed the Charity Shield between Manchester United and Portsmouth. Didn't realize that the Premier League is going to start any week now... God... forgot that I need to update my Yahoo Fantasy Football Team. Yup... this time around... I am going to concentrate on the fantasy league since I'll be unemployed. Yup... I am jobless for the first time in my working life. Pretty scary thought for me but I am taking it easy... step by step and assessing what to do. So you guys out there.. watch Little Green Men... they are the team to beat.. hehehe.

Thanks for the memories Ole...

Should have posted this long time ago but could not find a good picture. Thank you Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Your goal and assist in 1999 made history and forever etched in my mind. The Baby Face Assassin... a loyal servant of United... Ole... Ole... Ole...
Wished I was at Old Trafford to watch Ole's testimonial match like me friend here. Hope when I'm in Manchester I could watch Giggs's.

Penarik Beca arrested...

One of my favourite blogger, Penarik Beca was arrested last night at his home. The arrest was done under the Sedition Act. Read more from Kickdefella in Penarik Beca in Police Custody.
Today is not a good day. I am coughing like a dog... got up late because lack of sleep (because of the cough)... got into massive traffic jam because of the bloody roadblocks the police have errect... just because they are charging Anwar for the sodomy case. Why roadblocks..? It's anybody's guess... but for me its shows police stupidity (the police superiors)... no offence to the lower ranking ones... korang pun sure menyampah buat roadblock ni... tengok muka pun tau.

And then this arrest news... under Sedition Act... really makes my blood boil. Don't know what is seditious in Bakaq's writings... his last writing was about Rafidah's proposal of power transfer to her deputy Sharizat... he commented that it does not goes well with the Wanita UMNO's grassroot... does not look democratic at all. Nothing seditious at all.

I guess he got arrested because of his second last posting. You all can read the last two postings 'Sentuhan kecundang' here and 'Hukuman ke atas kaki rasuah' here.

No cheers for today... the country is really going down the drain... all because of this guy... he is really under distress. That is why I am displaying this...

SD again...

Another SD... this time from the Pusrawi doctor who is the first doctor to examine Saiful Bukhari's ass for the alleged sodomy case. RPK (Raja Petra Kamarudin) has reveal this SD in his posting What the IGP and AG do not know......yet. Looks like the good doctor is protecting himself from somebody or something. Makes this 'wayang' much more interesting now. For Anwar's supporters... they will say that this is proof that the sodomy case is purely a government conspiracy. Don't know what Anwar's detractors would comment on this SD... quite tough to deflect this. The government's argument saying the doctor is just a normal GP really does not hold water... especially when the doctor clearly explain what he did in his SD.

Just read below and do your own conclusion...

Really want to see how the Government handles this... I bet you that they will make a boo-boo just like last time. Sometimes people are so dumb... they'll do the same mistakes all over again...
